Dr Okiemute Akpomedaye MD

A GP trainee in the Wessex Deanery U.K. I grew up in Nigeria and went to medical school in Ukraine. After graduation I went back to Nigeria to do my internship/housemanship for a year and did a compulsory 1 year working in an outpatient clinic for the government, something called National Youth service (NYSC) in Nigeria. I knew immediately after graduation that I wanted to work in a country that had a working system which was why during internship I started preparing and took some of the exams to be able to work and train in the U.K. Growing up as the last child of 5 in an African home, I learned resilience, hard-work and so much more, most of which has brought me this far in my career.
