About The Event
The ‘DOCTORS & DENTISTS Q&A PANEL’ we held alongside African-Caribbean Medical Mentors was a great success!!!
We’d like to say a HUGE thank you to all who attended; from the aspiring & current medical/dentistry students to the junior doctors in our wonderful audience who made the evening one to remember.
The evening consisted of 2 awesome panel discussions involving African-Caribbean Doctors & Dentists in a diverse range of specialities. An award-winning Consultant Neurosurgeon, multiple authors, the 1st black cosmetic doctor to grace the cover of the The Times Magazine, a children’s TV show presenter, 1 of 3 black female urological surgeons in the UK were amongst our panel to name a few!
They shared their journeys, their struggles, the highs and wise advice to the audience. We discussed topics such as mental health, racism in the workplace, setting yourself apart, research & publications, friends, work life balance & supporting one another.
It was indeed a safe space & we’re immensely grateful to the wonderful doctors & dentists on the panel for their transparency & for sharing their unique perspectives on certain topics.
The room truly was a picture of #BlackExcellence
We hope to hold more events like this and we are also open to event suggestions, just send us a DM.
